Relief: With growing applications of electricity becoming common place, we cannot leave farmers out of the loop. It is our duty to give them a fair chance at modernization. Just because it is easier for us to provide electricity to cities, does not mean that we can utterly neglect farmers. We need to reach out BECAUSE it is hard. There are generations of farm hands being born who essentially live in a different time period from those generations that are coming up in the city surrounded by new technological advancements.
Recovery: Our stated purpose is to "elevate the condition of men-to lift artificial weights from all shoulders-to clear the paths of laudable pursuit for all-to afford all, an unfettered start, and a fair chance, in the race of life." By contributing to the modernization of our rural communities, the farms that we rely on to grow our food can be more productive and more efficient. Investing in the people who feed us is a very smart idea because the more crops that they can grow, the more food there is for us to eat, which could possibly drop the cost of food for us in return,
Reform: By investing time and money on these people now, we can insure that there will be sustainable food and people to grow said food for generations to come. Also, the REA will tighten the growing cultural divide between urban and rural communities. By providing more food to buy, the farmers can economically help us flood the market with cheap goods that people have to buy to survive which is a safer product than, say, a car which is a luxury product which people use faulty loans, issued by already struggling banks, to buy.
