What is the Rural Electrification Act?
The Rural Electrification Act is a way to provide the rural areas with much needed electricity. The act was submited as a puposal by Morris L. Cooke on Febuary 13, 1934 and shortly after issued as an executive order by FDR on May 11, 1936 because, people who lived in rural areas were suffering more than most people due to the Depression. Also giving rural farmers and workers electricity will increase productivity thus helping stimulate the rural economy.
What We Will Achieve with Rural Electrification
Rural electrification will acheive many things but the most important thing is giving rural farmers much needed electricity so they can start to try rebuilding the rural economy but with more of an advantage due to the electricity they will get. Another thing we will acheive is it will create jobs because we need people to help build these power sources and lines.
How to Acheive Rural Electrification
To achieve rural electrification we will need to hire people to make power lines and power plants to provide these areas with electricity. We will also have to get the electric companies to help us with this power distribution in the rural areas.
